JOB FAIR
What are you going to do after school? Are you planning to go to University? Do you already know what you want to be? Some people have a clear idea of what they want to be when they get older. If this is your case, you'll have now the oportunity to show everybody what is necessary to become a musician, or a dentist, or... an actor. If, on the contrary, you're still looking for your ideal job, you can now learn more about different occupations.
That's why we're going to organize a JOB FAIR. The objective is to show other students what different jobs and professions deal with. You'll have to explain why you have chosen that job, what kind of things you do, why it is important, and so on...
This is how you have to present the first part of the project. You can use pictures, photographs or drawings to illustrate the different sections:

HOW TO PRESENT YOUR PROJECT
Actors and actresses need to work on various different aspects concerning performance in order to make their characters real. It is not enough to learn one's part by heart and repeat it in front of an audience. And that is precisely what you have been doing lately. That is why you have had to think about the setting, the character's feelings and personality and so on...
Once you have finished and before the actual performance takes place, you will have to present this project in an appropriate way.
1. First of all, it is advisable to present it typewritten. In this way you will make sure that everything is clear and clean, and what's more, you'll be able to use a spell checker to avoid spelling mistakes.
2. There has to be a front page in which you'll have to write the title, the date and the name of the actors or actresses
3. Include an index.
4. An original version of the dialogue has to be included too.
5. Vocabulary work, that is, all the words and expressions that you had to work on in order to understand you text.
6. A Translation of the dialogue.
7. A description of The Setting.
8. A description of The Characters
Take into account all the corrections and remember it has to be the work of both members. If one of you is in charge of typing, the other one should revise every single word and sentence looking for possible mistakes or different and better ways of expressing an idea.

SHORT CONVERSATIONS 2
Wellcome back to school! As you already know, you are going to perform a new conversation. It is important that you analyse how you did it last time. Is there anything that did not work? Is there anything that worked well? Take into account good and bad points to improve your performance this time.
Here you are the schedule with the deadlines you've got to meet and some pieces of advice about how to work on your project:
Here you are the schedule with the deadlines you've got to meet and some pieces of advice about how to work on your project:
- 13/01/2011 Translation and vocabulary (Remember that a good translation implies transmitting the same meaning and intention of the original but with expressions that sound natural in the target language)
- 20/01/2011 Setting (When does the conversation take place? Where does it take place? What does the place look like? What type of props will your need to build up the scenery?)
- 27/01/2011 Characters (How old are they? What do they look like? What type of relationship is there between them? How are they feeling? What type of costumes or make up will you need?)
- 31/01/2011 Performance (Remember that showing emotions through gestures is as important as learning your part. It is not enough to learn the script parrotfashion. You have to understand what you are saying and listen to what your partner says in order to transmit something to the audience)
- 03/02/2011 Project (Take corrections into account when writing the final version of your project and do not forget that a good presentation is essential, including a cover page.)
Don't forget that if you want to improve your pronunciation, you can listen to the audio in the web address that appears on your script, or clicking on the conversation that you are working on here:
- Going to a Party
- Gossiping
- Asking for a Date
- Making Positive Comments on Food
- Searching for a Book in the Library
- Being Robbed
- Being Arrested
- Witnessing a Robbery
- A Traffic Incident
