Now that we are immersed in a new project about jobs. Here you are some videos which can help you with your performances. Take a look at them and be free to use anything you consider interesting.

Listen to a high school teacher describing her job

What does a dentist do?

What is a commercial model?

And now some examples in which actors perform different jobs:

A conductor

A barber

A traffic cop

A dentist

JOB FAIR

What are you going to do after school? Are you planning to go to University? Do you already know what you want to be? Some people have a clear idea of what they want to be when they get older. If this is your case, you'll have now the oportunity to show everybody what is necessary to become a musician, or a dentist, or... an actor. If, on the contrary, you're still looking for your ideal job, you can now learn more about different occupations.
That's why we're going to organize a JOB FAIR. The objective is to show other students what different jobs and professions deal with. You'll have to explain why you have chosen that job, what kind of things you do, why it is important, and so on...

This is how you have to present the first part of the project. You can use pictures, photographs or drawings to illustrate the different sections:

  • Front page: name, date, job
  • Index
  • 1st Page: I want to be... / I want to have this job because...
  • 2nd Page: I need to wear... / I need these special clothes because...
  • 3rd Page: This is what I will do all day, when I have this job / This job is important because...
On a separate piece of paper, prepare the actual performance:

  • This is what I will do when I present in front of the class (where are you going to be? what are you going to wear? what are you going to bring? will you do it on your own or with someone else?)
  • This is what I will say when I present in front of the class
